Drop a credit card in the frame. VisualRuler uses it as a reference to deliver accurate real-world measurements — no depth sensor, no LiDAR, no fuss.
How it works
No calibration, no setup, no account. Just you, your phone, and any card from your wallet.
Step 01
Place any standard ID-1 card (credit card, transit card, library card) in the scene and snap a photo — or pick one from your library.
Step 02
VisualRuler automatically finds the card and locks the frame. Drag the corner handles to fine-tune if needed.
Step 03
Place line or rectangle targets anywhere in the image. Distances update in real time as you drag — in metric or imperial.
Features
Everything you need. Nothing you don't.
Card detection, frame lock, and measurement placement all happen in seconds. No spinners, no waiting.
Works with any ISO/IEC 7810 ID-1 card — credit cards, debit cards, transit passes, library cards.
Measure straight-line distances or width × height of rectangular objects with independent draggable handles.
Switch between millimetres, centimetres, inches and feet at any time. Results update instantly.
Open an existing photo and measure after the fact — no need to reshoot. Great for real estate and product photography.
Export an annotated image with all measurements overlaid, ready to share or attach to a report.
VisualRuler computes a 3×3 homography from your card's four corners to a canonical
metric rectangle (85.725 × 53.975 mm). Any two points in the image are then
projected through that matrix to yield an accurate Euclidean distance — no depth sensor, no
ARKit, no magic.
